UPDATE

Problem
After installing DLP Endpoint Hotfix 10.0.250, Internet Explorer hangs or crashes on client systems. This issue occurs intermittently under normal DLP operations, and consistently when DLP Endpoint debugging is enabled.

Windows Event Viewer reports FCPLIE32.dll as the cause.

Solution
Technical Support is investigating this issue and has temporarily removed DLP Endpoint Hotfix 10.0.250 from the Product Downloads site and ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) Software Manager. This will not remove DLP Endpoint from ePO servers that have already downloaded DLP Endpoint Hotfix 10.0.250, or from clients that have already had the hotfix applied. For steps to avoid or resolve the issue on clients that already have DLP Endpoint Hotfix 10.0.250 installed, see the Workaround section below.

Workaround
Perform the following steps to prevent this issue from occurring on endpoints that have already upgraded to DLP Endpoint Hotfix 10.0.250:

  • Open Policy Catalog.
  • Click the active Windows Client Configuration (for example, Default Windows Client Configuration).
  • Select Debugging and Logging.
  • Deselect Save log messages to files.
  • Click Apply to distribute the Windows Client Configuration policy to endpoints.
  • After the affected endpoint systems receive the Windows Client Configuration, the end-user must terminate all iexplorer.exe instances and relaunch Internet Explorer.
